Black Business Spotlight: 19th & Park
The COVID reset pushed several Black female-led companies to receive some much-needed recognition. One such business was the New York-based creative agency 19th & Park. The agency was the brainchild of marketing expert Whitney Headen and production veteran Tahira White.
After years of experiencing toxic work environments and burnout in the corporate world, the two women formed the creative agency. They decided to merge their expertise in marketing and production to create a premier outlet for underserved and underrepresented groups. The agency provides services, including:
- Creative and production strategy
- Concept development
- Asset delivery
- Creative sourcing
Headen and White want to see everyone reflected in the advertising world through their inclusive work. This approach garnered major clients like Lyft, BET Networks, and Coca-Cola.
The duo expanded their branding agency by creating their in-house production company, 1Park9, which boasts a talented team of creatives. The off-shoot studio has created superb campaigns for brands like Bumble, Apple Music, and Meta.
As the creative agency continues to grow, White and Headen continue to put effort into showing the need for representation in advertising and marketing.
