Singer-songwriter Vincint Cannady pours their life and feelings into his music. Cannady was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. Music was part of their world from a young age. Their father was part of the gospel music group Christ United Gospel Singers. Their pedigree led them to begin singing at age 5. It wasn’t until they were seven or eight that their father placed them in an all-boys choir. They wrote songs at age 12 before entering their first talent show.

After graduating high school, Cannady harnessed their musical talents by attending Berklee College for Music. They spent the next few years pursuing their music career. Their work paid off as they had their breakthrough on the Fox reality competition The Four. Cannady entered the final weeks of the series and made it to the final four before being eliminated. Competing on the series led to them gaining exposure among the public.

After the series ended, Cannady capitalized on the success by releasing music. The singer-songwriter released several singles before unleashing their debut EP, The Feeling, in 2020. After releasing numerous singles, they released their debut album, There Will Be Tears, in 2021. They embarked on their first tour to support the release.

Vincint used their newfound success to be part of numerous TV and film projects. They got placements on Netflix’s Queer Eye and the Hulu series Love, Victor.

Vincint allowed themselves to define their sound and appeal without compromising. They placed the spotlight on an underrepresented space — emerging LGBTQ artists. So, I say, “Mx. Cannady, we thank you for claiming your space unapologetically.”

I figured I should write something that says, at the end of all this shit, of course there are going to be tears. Hopefully, though, it will be the first time in a new era where you understand that, even in the midst of all this chaos, there’s still some good. Life goes on, you know?
